Congratulations to Ray Noble (1531) on becoming the Bob Dunn Summer Champion (OTB) 2023-24 after an outstanding win against Euan Murray (1575) in the last round! It was a nailbiter which Ray just managed to hold on before a mistake by Euan put an earlier end to the match than expected!
Ray`s run included a rare win against Andy Rowe (1572) in round 3, which put him in pole position going into round 4! A draw would have tied the championship for Ray, but a win meant he got it to himself. Euan needed a win to tie for 1st place, so this was a battle and a half for both players! Ray finished on 12 points.
Alistdair McLeod (1531) & Jan Barron-Majerik (1500) both finished runners-up on 10 points. Well played the both of you!

Well that`s it for another season. Once again congratulations to Ray Noble, who has done the “SUMMER DOUBLE“, having also won the Summer Online (joint winner)! Not bad for an old man and chess has-been!
