RESULT
Dundee City Juniors(960) 6 – 2 (1000) Shropshire Juniors
At last a result and a good one at that! While the team average grading looked level (40 pts dif), it can be deceiving as Rishi`s 1875 kind of distorts the grading`s. In reality apart from our top board, we were out graded on the last three boards by a big margin (567 – 866)!
Rishi Vijatakumar won both his games on board one and deserves praise for still managing to keep focus and do the business despite the big grading gap between him and his opponent. It sometimes can lead to complacency and banana skin moments!
Josh and Noah Dickson on boards two and three respectively also won both their games, but against higher graded opponents! Josh`s wins were good and shows he is holding his own at this level. As for Noah, what a double win against an opponent 419 points above him. Way to go Noah!
Haoqi Liu on board 4 was well out graded and as we all know by now, one never knows which version of Haoqi will turn up on any given night! We will see what happens in two week and which Haoqi turns up!
This result means Dundee City Juniors sit in 4th place on 4 points in division 3, group “B”
Round six Thurs 30th March 23.
