Airthings Masters Play-In | Champions Chess Tour 2023

The Play-In for the Airthing Masters, the 1st event of the 2023 Champions Chess Tour, is taking place on February 3rd deciding which 54 players will join Magnus Carlsen and Wesley So in the main event which will be played from 6-10 February.

The Airthing Masters Play-In will begin with a 9-round swiss tournament, with the top finishers advancing to Match Play. A 2-game match with eventual Armageddon (played if the result is tied) will determine who qualifies to which Division.

The time control will be 10 min + 2 sec increment per move. For Armageddon, White will get 10 minutes without increment, while the players who bid for the lowest time accept to play black. The lowest bid wins, with the player with Black winning the match in case of a draw.
