The Stepan Avagyan Memorial takes place June 20-28, 2022 in Yerevan, Armenia. The format is a round-robin among 10 players and the participants are a very interesting mixture of young starts and local talents. Top seeded is GM Hans Moke Niemann who just turned 19 and is currently the second strongest junior in the world. He is accompanied by two more top 20 juniors – Nihal Sarin and Shant Sargsyan. The rest of the field is completed by Amin Tabatabaei, Alexander Donchenko, Haik Martirosyan, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, Manuel Petrosyan, Thai Dai Van Nguyen and the only IM in the field Mamikon Gharibyan.
