Not to bad a start for Dundee City teams in two tough divisions grading wise. Dundee City 1 took the bragging rights in the 11am derby match against Dundee City 2! Mind you Cosmo Bobak (Dundee 2) had a fantastic win against Ed Spencer (Dundee 1).
In their 2pm match (Dun 1) it was a question of what if, going down 2-3 in the end, but it could so easily have been the other way around! The big individual match was of course between Scotland junior sensation Gordon Frederick who has already won against GM`s and our own Richard Polaczek IM. It was a good match which could have gone either way or a draw, but for an unfortunate blunder by Richard leaving a Bishop for the taking! Just shows no matter how good you are, it happens to us all!
Dundee City 2 had some hard luck in their good draw against CP Cyber Cats with Gary Weir having a mouse slip and losing his Queen in the process. The perils of online chess! We will take the draw none the less!
Dundee City 3 in their morning match lost a close one to Stepps. In their afternoon match they more than made up for that with an emphatic 4-1 win against Edinburgh 2! Special mention to Ray Flood and Ana Belen Seijas Otero for winning both their am & pm matches!
Well played everybody in the first of four Sundays. For all the individual results/players and standings visit the LMS (League management System page to checkout everything (link below). Look around you can do no harm to the site!
