A Quick Note on the Free Will Thread

I'm still sitting on the comments to this post, letting them accumulate; I'll probably offer some thoughts on this tomorrow or Tuesday, as time allows. I'm grateful for all the comments that have come in so far, and hope others will join in the fun as well. It is a rich topic, and a number of the comments have touched on some of the broader themes. We can go deeper with that soon, but for those yet to offer their response, please try to focus on the situation only as given. Sometimes that sort of constraint can be a challenge for those with some background knowledge on a subject - believe me, I understand this! Remember, though, that I'm trying to survey people's snap judgments--their intuitions--about the case at hand. We'll go deeper soon.
