Noreve iPhone 11 Pro leather wallet case review

0 10

REVIEW – I feel like I have gone through hundreds of different phone cases over the past 10 years or so.  With each new phone, I get, I get at least three different cases before I find one that suits me. I have used everything from basic TPU cases to full coverage Otter Box type cases.   I tend towards using the more minimalist cases.  I have never used a case that has a flap over the phone.  I figured it would be too unwieldy and get in the way.  I recently switched over to the dark side of IOS from years of Android use last year.  With the iPhone, I am constantly turning on the darn flashlight when I pick up the phone.  I know I can remove that from my front screen but I like the functionality.  So I decided to see if the Noreve iPhone wallet cover type case would solve my issue.  Let’s see how it works out.

What is it?

The Noreve Horizontal Wallet Flap case is exactly what the name says it is.  It is a real leather case that has a flap that comes over the front of the phone and seals with a magnetic snap.  It has two slots for credit cards and ids.  This phone case comes in 7 different leather types starting with synthetic leather all the way up to a type called Patine.  You can also choose to customize the wallet by adding extra slots in the back of the case.  They also allow you to add your own logo or engraving if you wish.

They make cases for almost every Apple phone back to the first iPhone.  They also make cases for Samsung, Google, OnePlus, Sony, and others.

What’s in the box?

I had to include multiple pictures because this phone wallet came so beautifully packed.  The box itself was covered by a clear plastic cover.  You can see a picture of the box below.

Opening the box reveals a beautiful bag that holds the phone case/wallet.

Inside the bag is the actual wallet.  I did not take a picture of it, but inside the wallet was a foam sleeve that sat in place of where the phone sits.  That made sure the wallet kept its shape.

  • One nice shipping bag/pouch
  • Iphone 11 Pro horizontal wallet

Hardware specs

  • Leather handmade by French craftsmen.  The particular finish I received is called Tenation Tropezienne.
  • The frame is made of thermoplastics
  • A discrete screen print of the Noreve logo of the bell tower at Saint-Tropez is on the inside flap.
  • The Tentation Tropézienne range uses saturated color pigments which do not fade when exposed to ultraviolet light. They are also more resistant to scratches, wear, and tear. This treatment makes our creations more solid for daily use.

Design and features

As I stated above, I received the wallet in the Tentation Tropezienne finish.  The color is orange, but being that it is made in France, the color is called arange colouquie.  You do not get the leather smell that you sometimes get on other leather items.  Here is a picture of the front of the cover.  Three holes are provided up top for the speaker.  There is a small metal Noreve logo of the moon protecting the sun.  The leather is soft and very smooth to the touch.  I can tell this is a very well-built phone cover.

Next, we have a picture of the back of the case.  Here you can see the cut-out for the phone camera lenses.  You can see from the front and back that the stitching is very fine and consistent.  There are no loose threads anywhere.

Opening the case reveals the wallet and phone areas.   To the left, there are two slots to store credit cards or even some bills.   There is a stamped logo of the bell tower of Saint-Tropez.  On the right-hand side, you have the holder for the phone.  It is made of a hard thermoplastic that is covered by leather.  You have to press with some effort to get your phone to pop in.  There is very little chance of it coming out unless you throw it down with the case open.  The right side also has a made-in-France stamp.

This is what it looks like after popping the phone into place.  It fit perfectly with no issues.

Now we will start walking around the case.  The picture below shows a shot of the bottom of the case. There is plenty of opening for the charger hole and speaker holes.  The phone sounds exactly as it does with the case off.

Here is a shot of the left side of the case.  Both volume buttons and the mute switch are nicely exposed.  I have no issues hitting them when I need to.

Here is a picture of the top of the case where the phone inserts.  There is enough room for the grey antenna bar to show.

Here is a picture of the right side of the phone. You can see the wake button is fully exposed.  I had no issues getting to it.

Here is a picture of the back of the case with the phone inserted.  You can see all three camera lenses along with the flash and light sensor.  Pictures that were taken with the case on look as good as ever as long as I remember not to fold the flap back!  LOL.

I took a close-up shot of the snap closure.  This base is magnetic.

This is a picture of the snap itself.

Performance

I was able to insert up to two credit cards per slot.  I ended up with one credit card and my id.  I also had about four bills folded up behind my id.  Everything was easy to get in and out but held very securely.  I also want to state that the phone charged wirelessly with the case on with no issues.  I put the phone on a wireless charger every night and it is at 100% every morning.

Here is what the case looks like with the flap folded back.  Answering calls this way was not an issue.  The biggest hurdle I had (and it was a small one) was learning to fold back the snap flap to get it out of my face when talking.

What I like

  • Super-premium wallet.  Very well made.  You can tell a lot of craftsmanship went into its creation.
  • I love the color choices and the various options they have for their wallet leathers.
  • I no longer need to carry my wallet separately anymore.

What needs to be improved

  • Nothing – I could say it is pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Final thoughts

I have found my new permanent phone cover.  The Noreve iPhone cover is built to last and is very well made.  I don’t need to worry about threads coming out or the leather looking bad over time.  I am sure when I upgrade my phone, I will end up getting one of these wallets for it.

Price: $160.35 as configured.  Cases start at $76.90 and go up to $189.81
