Congratulations to Euan Murray on his 8th first place finish in this competition! He was up against stiff competition but proved too strong in the closing straight ending up on 17 points! He is proving to be one of our best players at this format and is also leading after one round in our “Quick-Play 5 round competition!
Graham Mooney was his nearest rival in runner-up spot on 12 points the 5th time he has claimed that spot, while Richard Kynoch took the last podium place in third on 10 points (the 7th time he has finished in third), the same as Ray Noble, who lost out on tie-break! Ray’s fault as he lost his last two games in which he was the higher rated player! (Oh so close Ray!).
Max Whisson J15 was the highest placed junior for the 7th time and has been proving a bit of a handful in this format (ask Ray!).
Keith Rose was in a very charitable mood in this competition and proved himself to be more of a giver than a taker! Proper gentleman our Keith!
Well done all the podium finishers and thank you to everyone who has supported the event.
Next Thursday 27th May, the Castlehill weekly will take a rest as the “Castlehill Quick-Play Championship” round two takes place. Euan is leading after one round (5 in total), but a long way to go!
