Lisen phone stand review

REVIEW – At the risk of sounding a little eccentric, I will admit that can’t get enough phone and tablet stands in my life.  They are scattered throughout the house because you never know when a Netflix binge will hit you!  I even used one as a makeshift tripod when I took photos for this article.

Design and features

The Lisen phone and tablet stand features a weighted base with non-slip pads to protect your furniture.  The support itself has a telescoping aluminum alloy pole with sort of a plastic doughnut that attaches to the part that holds the phone and allows for tilting.  The doughnut is designed to pass your charging cord through and hopefully, help with cord tangling and dangling when you disconnect your phone.  The part that holds the phone is lined with silicone so your device isn’t scratched when it’s in the stand.

Setup

Assembly was straightforward.  I inserted the pole into the hole on the base, and underneath the base is a hole for a screw that holds it together.  For some reason they sent two screws, which is nice if you lose one, I guess.  You really need the hex wrench to tighten the screw because it takes a fair bit of force to tighten.

Performance

This phone stand is easy to adjust, but it is stiff enough that once you adjust it, it isn’t going to move on its own.  I like the fact that you can adjust it without fiddling with screws or anything.  It advertises that it will hold thicker devices, but my phone with its wallet case pretty much maxed it out.  For reference, I measured my phone and the thickness is about .25 inch in the case.

The stand is extendable but not as extendable as some others on the market.  The height at the base of your device will be between 4-5.25 inches off the surface you have it sitting on, depending on how you have it adjusted. The tilt is adjustable between 5 and 85 degrees.  Ideally, I’d prefer it if it could extend a bit higher.  I understand that could make it more tippy, but a one inch range is not much.

Final thoughts

Overall the Lisen phone stand seems well made and robust.  I think it will survive a mishap or two if you are klutzy like me.  There is a one-year warranty and 24-hour support if something does happen to it, though.
