????Drawtober Offering Art Challenge????

After reviewing a few trending topics on the internet, I found several opportunities for artists to share their work with an interested community. I spent a little time reading through the fine print (the terms and conditions) about copyright on one or two of these challenges and came away with one that I feel comfortable reviewing.
Drawtober2020 or #drawtober2020 is an art challenge that provides six prompts for the month of October – there is an image of the rules and prompts on Twitter and on Instagram. They are on other social media platforms, but I stopped at two.
The challenge consists of six art prompts over the month of October:
- carving,
- wicked apothecary,
- midnight feast,
- folklore,
- ancient rituals,
- and harvest festival.
Harvest Festival is the theme of the 2020 challenge. The host(s) maintain that “(t)his challenge will stay community driven and is meant for us as artists to share creativity, inspiration, and the love of the season with one another.” They also insist that they have no intention of profiting in any way from the challenge, and others’ artwork as these pages/feeds are for the art community. The rules are simple:
- Create in any medium according to the prompt time frame
- Post your creations in the time frame, using the hashtag #drawtober2020 and tag @drawtober for a chance to be featured,
- Be creative and have fun!
The feeds mention prizes, but information was not yet available about them.
If you happen to participate in this challenge, after reading about it here – toss us a mention using the tag @WCPLtn
