CLUB NIGHT REPORT (Thurs 8th Aug 19)
By our standards a less busy night, but oh what a night indeed! We had 8 juniors down and Tom (J) kept them entertained all night with his mad cap sense of humour and his fog horn voice!
LADDER
This was the last night of the ladder qualifying section which had been extended due to only three players making the qualifying number of nights! Tonight this was reduced from 5 to 4 to fill that last place.

1st Ray Noble (3/3)
2nd= Jan Barron-Majerik; Keith Rose & Luaidh William (J) (2/3)
Luaidh (Junior) is on holiday from Canada and this was the last night at our club. He is very strong for his age, indeed even stronger than our current Junior Club Champion Ramit Kanodia. But they both have something in common; they have both beat, Ray Noble the current ladder champion! (I know so has everybody else you shout!) Mmm… But Ray not only won tonight, he qualifies for the Ladder final as the points medal winner and once again is on course to defended his Ladder title!

Table One (most points): Ray Noble (17½ pts)
Keith Rose finished in second place and is in a qualifying spot, but as he wins one of the other tables, the qualifying place goes to Colin Young who is the only other player to make the qualifying standard,
Table Two (best percentage): Keith Rose (80%). Well done Keith!
Table Three (TPR): Peter Sallai finished in 9th place, but is the only player to make the qualifying norm, apart from Keith Rose, but he had already taken the percentage qualifying spot!
Jan Barron-Majerik was the unlucky player who joined us late in the ladder season but scored well in all 3 tables, but lost out to only having played 3 nights! I think next year he will be a big threat if he goes for it!
Congratulations to Ray, Keith, Colin & Peter for reaching the 2018-19 Ladder final. The final will take place on Thurs 29th August, 7:45pm. This will be an all-play-all, playing each other twice (6 matches in total), 15 minutes each player. Be warned, Ray has the experience already in this situation, while Keith has never lost a ladder final (Twice a winner!). Colin was unlucky the last time and is always a hard player to beat, and Peter is the unknown factor which could decide who comes out on top! Looks like a cracker of a final on the night!

Congratulations to Robert who reaches his first Random Knockout final. There he will meet the defending champion, Ray Noble who has done well to reach the final again after getting very lucky against Ed Walton in there semi-final clash!
