I guess this explains his kamikaze performance at Wijk aan Zee, though why he preferred to go out showing insane chess rather than making an all-out effort to remind the world of his best chess is hard to understand.
Today, January 29th 2019, in Minsk an Agreement between FIDE and the Organisers of the 2022 World Chess Olympiad, 2020 FIDE Women's World Cup, 2021 FIDE World Chess Cup and 2022 FIDE Congress was signed.
