With his win today in round 5 of the Shenzhen Masters, Ding Liren has pushed his unbeaten streak to 99 games. This is one of the longest streaks ever in grandmaster chess, surpassing Mikhail Tal's famous 95-game unbeaten streak in 1973-1974. (Sergei Tiviakov claims a 110-game unbeaten streak from 2004-2005, and it's incredibly impressive as well, though on average his opposition wasn't as impressive as Ding's.)
Much more on the streak here. (HT: Allen Becker)
