Andrew Paulson (1958-2017), Founder of Agon, R.I.P.
Andrew Paulson founded Agon, the company that organizes and runs the World Championship, the Candidates tournaments, the Grand Prix events and more. While he was no longer in charge of the company when he passed away on July 18, Agon has made a difference in the chess world - whether for better or worse. (Or both.) And thus he did too, in the course of living a very interesting and eventful life.
