MLB Team Brutally Roasted for ‘Embarrassing’ Home Crowd in Game vs. Top Rival
Baseball fans are destroying the Minnesota Twins over their terrible attendance for Monday's home game against the AL Central rival Detroit Tigers at Target Field.
After losing their first home series of the young 2026 MLB season to the Tampa Bay Rays (the visitors took two of three), the Twins welcomed their longtime rivals for a three-game slate to kick off the week.
It's not super uncommon to see a plethora of empty seats at some MLB games. If a game is delayed by bad weather, many fans will go home rather than wait several hours for the start.
Or, perhaps a stadium is largely empty for regular-season games late in the year because that team is near the bottom of the standings. Thus, fans have little excitement to attend a meaningless game with no stakes.
But for some reason, the Minnesota Twins had very few fans for Monday's home game with the Detroit Tigers. This video from the @twinstv X (formerly Twitter) account shows the alarming amount of unfilled green seats:

"More people in the lineup than the stands," one fan said.
"Don’t worry I screen recorded in case you try and delete this video of the 44 people in attendance," joked a user.
"This is just getting embarrassing," a fan commented.
"More people at their AA club games tbh," said another.
"Dozens of people are there to see them," a user commented.
According to Baseball Reference, the final attendance for Monday's game was 12,569. So make of that figure as you wish.

The good news for the Twins is that they play in arguably baseball's worst division.
Even though the Twins hold a 5-6 record, they're only 1.5 behind the Cleveland Guardians for first in the AL Central. Remember, the Guardians won the division a year ago with only 88 wins.
The Detroit Tigers were the trendy pick to win the division at the start of the year, but they're off to a horrible 4-7 start. There's still plenty of baseball to be played, but the Twins could definitely make a surprise run at the division crown.
