Netflix, CBS, ABC & NBC Cancel 11 Popular Shows in 2026
Some of the 2026 television show and streaming cancellations came with a lot of drama. Think the suddenly canceled season of The Bachelorette, after dramatic videos surfaced showing lead Taylor Frankie Paul in a disturbing light.
Other shows came and went without much of a ripple. One starred two popular chefs. Others fell to the wayside due to a major network's decision to change how it handles syndication.
Altogether, Netflix, CBS, ABC, and NBC have canceled 11 shows in 2026 through April 4. See a roundup of every canceled show in 2026 here.
CBS Cancels 2 Shows That Were Considered on the 'Bubble'

CBS canceled several popular shows.
DMV was canceled after one season, and Watson ended after two seasons, according to Rolling Out. "DMV is a comedy set in the place everyone dreads going most – the Department of Motor Vehicles," according to CBS.
"WATSON stars Morris Chestnut as Dr. Watson in a modern take of one of history’s greatest detectives as he solves medical mysteries," CBS added.
According to Deadline, "Their season — now series — finales will air May 3 and May 11, respectively." Both shows were considered on the "bubble," Deadline noted on March 27.
NBC Canceled Some Popular Shows in a Move Away From '1st Run Syndicated Programming'
NBC also canceled several shows, including Yes, Chef! Karamo, and the Steve Wilkos Show.Yes, Chef! was a reality cooking competition starring Martha Stewart and José Andrés, according to Deadline.
Access Hollywood and Access Live are also being canceled, according to Rolling Out.
The Hollywood Reporter drew a link among some of the cancellations. "NBCUniversal will no longer produce first-run syndicated TV programming, ending production of shows like Access Hollywood, Access Live, Karamo, and The Steve Wilkos Show in a major strategic shift for the company," the site reported.
"NBCUniversal is making changes to our first-run syndication division to better align with the programming preferences of local stations,” said Frances Berwick, chairman of Bravo & Peacock unscripted for NBCUniversal, in a statement to THR. “The company will remain active in the distribution of our existing program library and other off-network titles, while winding down production of our first-run shows. These shows have provided audiences with great talk and entertainment content for many years and we’re very proud of the teams behind them.”
Netflix Has Also Canceled Several Shows in 2026
Netflix canceled The Abandons in 2026, DirecTV reported.The Vince Staples Show and Terminator Zero are also on the chopping block, the site reported.
ABC Canceled Its Popular Franchise After a Controversy
ABC called this season of The Bachelorette after its lead was involved in a domestic controversy. According to People, that decision came after TMZ published videos showing an alleged domestic altercation, which has sparked an investigation. The season was already filmed when ABC made the decision not to air it.
Taylor Frankie Paul's representative told People that the video "conveniently omits context." She thanked fans for their support, writing on social media, "Thank you to every check in, call, prayer sent. Your unconditional kindness and check in can be someone's lifeline."
