Nancy Guthrie Case: 'Ghoulish' Behavior Outside House Gets Called Out

Nancy Guthrie has been missing since Feb. 1, and in the four-plus weeks that her disappearance has been investigated, the 84-year-old's Tucson, Arizona home has been a hot spot for law enforcement as well as the general public.

Some of the people who stopped by the house, like the various groups of volunteer searchers, are well-meaning, even if authorities have asked them to leave the case alone. Others have appeared in a different light, earning scorn for "ghoulish" behavior, per the New York Post.

Streamers criticized for presence at home

Last Friday, true crime streamer and independent investigator Jonathan Lee Riches, who goes by the handle @JLRInvestigates, tweeted a photo of a woman in skimpy black shorts, a revealing black top and boots filming outside of Nancy Guthrie's house.

"A woman & her cameraman just arrived to Nancy Guthrie's home," Riches wrote alongside a picture of the pair.

In another post, Riches said the pair was "literally doing a photo shoot in front of Nancy Guthrie's home" and that when he approached them, the woman said she "doesn't want to talk."

As it turns out, the woman's streaming name is Kiki, and according to the Post, footage that she shared included someone "appearing to call her 'embarrassing'” until she gave them the finger.

Feud starts between rival streamers

In addition to earning Kiki and her male partner plenty of online backlash in the comments, the posts from Riches set off a social media feud between the streamer, whose handle is @iamghostgrl, and another X/Twitter user Criminal Network.

Criminal Network was also apparently on the scene, and the two got into a confrontation outside the house that spilled over to X/Twitter.

"No get over yourself. What was your purpose? You pulled up, screamed shit at me, tried to approach me, I denied u & then u left. Good luck with ur bs channel seems to be going well," Kiki said in one exchange.

"Kiki adults talking pay attention. Kiki once this becomes about me or you, its no longer about Nancy, so unless you are helping to find her, respectfully STFU. I will no longer entertain you or your hidden Motives. NANCY. Notice your name is not Nancy," Criminal Network responded in another post.

We'll let you comb through the back-and-forth on your own time, but one thing is certain. The focus should remain on Nancy Guthrie and finding out what happened to her, not anyone using her disappearance to gain clout of any kind.

Authorities return home to family

Last week, law enforcement made the decision to return the Guthrie home to family, no longer seeing the need to seal it as a crime scene.

“For weeks, her home in the Tucson area has been the center of a flurry of law enforcement activity — including the recovery of DNA evidence,” NBC News wrote at the time. “Activity seen Wednesday is related to efforts to turn the home back over to the Guthrie family, two federal law enforcement sources told NBC News.”

On Monday, two Pima County Sheriff's Department vehicles were back at the Guthrie home, per TV journalist Mills Hayes, but it was to escort Savannah Guthrie, Nancy's daughter and cohost of Today, along with her sister Annie and brother-in-law Tommaso Cioni, to the site where flowers had been laid to honor Nancy.
