Why We Love This Deal
As someone who has spent quite a bit of time shopping for Carhartt gear recently, I can tell you that the brand’s meaningful cold-weather workwear staples don’t often receive discounts. That’s why I was surprised by Dick’s Sporting Goods' recent markdowns on some of the brand's popular styles (even the signature heavyweight T-shirts are seeing price cuts).
If there's one to know about, it's the Rain Defender Sherpa-Lined Zippered Hoodie. Right now, it's $15 off, and if I know anything about Carhartt deals, sizes won’t be in stock long.
Carhartt’s Rain Defender Rockland Sherpa-Lined Zippered Hoodies are now just $60 at Dick’s Sporting Goods. These hefty hoodies are tougher than your average model, with the ability to keep out the rain and keep you warm when you're out in the cold. On the Dick's' site, they've accumulated over 800 ratings and currently hold a 4.8-star average. If you need rugged outerwear, this is one to consider.

What Shoppers Should Know
- Design: Sherpa-lined zippered hoodie
- Colors: Charcoal heathered, black
- Sizes: S to 2XL
- Materials: 50% cotton, 50% polyester
- Weight: 10.5 ounces
- Fit: Loose
- Water Resistance: DWR finish
- Best For: Workwear, ranch/farm work, rugged lifestyles
Created with 10.5-ounce cotton-polyester fleece, these hoodies are heavier than the typical Nike Dry-Fit or Old Navy pullover—thanks to the sherpa lining, they're toasty warm. They easily handle damp and cold conditions with their DWR finish, while their quilted nylon-lined sleeves keep it comfy on the inside, and the reinforced rib-knit cuffs, handwarmer pockets, and storm-flap zipper keep the elements out. They also have an inner phone pocket.
This hoodie is more of a hybrid combo of jacket-meets-hooded-sweatshirt that’s meant for working outdoors, and it can easily handle changing weather. While they are by no means on par with storm-level ski jackets, light rain and sleet/snow are easily manageable for short periods of time.
Price-wise, this is the only deal I can find right now on these Rain Defender hoodies. While they're listed on Carhartt’s website at $37, however, only the 2XL size is available. On Amazon, they are listed at full price.

What Wearers Are Saying
These tough zippered hoodies have a huge following among both work pros and even regular joes. Hundreds of reviews note these will definitely keep you “warm and dry,” with one even saying, “When it does plummet into frigid extremes, this hoodie becomes the ultimate last layer,” and they said that the DWR works “surprisingly well.” Even if you’re caught out in cold drizzle or sleet, you will stay “surprisingly dry for a decent amount of time.”
Another said, “This thing is tough, abrasion-resistant and warm,” adding that if you “take care of this jacket, it'll be the last jacket you'll ever need.”
This is a rare $15 savings on this particular Carhartt hoodie, and what's even rarer is that all sizes are in stock for both black and charcoal. If you want one, get it ASAP—once more people learn about this deal, they're going to fly off the shelves.
