The shoes retailed for $134.99, and only one was available for purchase by Costco members.
Then came the frenzy.
Resale Market For Costco's Nike SB Dunks Explode
According to a Fox Business report, the resale markup skyrocketed after just three days on the market.
The report states that the price in the aftermarket shot up approximately 200 percent or more. Some shoes can be purchased anywhere between $400 to $1,000 on sites like StockX and GOAT.
The outlet goes on to report that 660 pairs were resold on StockX over the weekend, with the highest price reaching $600.
But Don't Go Crazy on the Resale Market
Two sneaker accounts with a massive following say that Costco will randomly drop more shoes as early as next week.
One account with nearly 400,000 followers posted, "According to a store employee, additional inventory is coming and may expand to new Costco locations beyond the 8 store initial rollout. This is limited allocation footwear, so sizes and quantities will be tight and availability will vary heavily by warehouse. Limit 1 per membership!"
Another account with nearly 1 million followers posted, "Looks like locations will be randomly shock dropping them throughout the next few weeks with about 500 pairs each store."
