Who’s Going To Win Big at the Grammys This Weekend?
The 68th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with live performances from stars including Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Clipse & Pharrell Williams.
This year's Grammy nominees were announced back in November, with artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, and Sabrina Carpenter leading in nominations. However, lots has changed since those lists were originally announced, and it's become much more difficult to predict who's going to win certain categories.
The Grammys Are Historically Difficult to Predict
Unlike awards ceremonies like the Oscars, which has several noteworthy precursors in the Golden Globes, BAFTAs, etc, the Grammys are typically much harder to predict. The winners are voted for by a peer group of musicians, songwriters, producers, and sound engineers, meaning they historically reward big names with lots of influence in the industry.
Thankfully, the technical art of Grammy predictions hasn't gone anywhere over the past few years. Awards experts GoldDerby have released their final odds for the event, with Bad Buddy's DTMF album tipped at 44% to win Album of the Year. Given the artist's upcoming performance at the Super Bowl and his ongoing political relevance in the social media sphere, this seems lile a very safe (but entirely deserving) choice for the category.
Other possibilities include Kendrick Lamar's GNX or Lady Gaga's Mayhem, which have been cultural giants in the hip-hop and pop music spheres, respectively.
Record of the Year feels like a battle between Gaga's "Abracadabra" and Lamar's "luther" given their huge streaming numbers and pop culture impact. Both artists are historically favored by the Grammys too, which helps their chances.
"Golden" from the K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack could win big in the Song of the Year category, with GoldDerby giving it odds of 50% in a lineup of eight nominees.
In the rock music categories, the odds are favoring Deftones and Hayley Williams, who are nominated in the Best Rock Album and Best Alternative Album for their albums Private Music and Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.
Elton John and Brandi Carlisle also have strong odds for victory in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category. Elton has a strong track record with the Grammys, and despite the muted reception of his collaborative album last year, this seems like the perfect opportunity for the academy to give him further recognition.
Best New Artist is another hugely talked-about category ever year, and it certainly seems like Olivia Dean has this one in the bag. She's broken into the industry with a huge splash last year following the release of The Art of Loving, which has been a major hit both in her home country of the United Kingdom in the United States.
