7 Niche YouTubers I Can’t Stop Watching Right Now

If you are anything like me, you have an eclectic range of interests, hobbies, curiosities, and YouTube viewing habits. While some of the YouTubers I find myself watching regularly are indeed well-known and immensely popular within their fields, I absolutely invest far more time on channels that aren't exactly household names on the scale of, say, Mr. Beast.

In no particular order, here are some of the YouTubers consistently soaking up my screen time of late when I'm not consumed by the NFL.

Golf Sidekick

Despite being a jack of all trades with a vast array of interests, I'd give it all up for golf alone. When I can't play, I'll watch just about anything in the YouTube golf sphere at least once. Not all content is created equal, however, and there's a lot of low-quality, repetitive garbage in the space. In a saturated field, "Matty Boom Boom" forged his own path as arguably the most unique of all, and you're doing YouTube golf wrong if the "Playa in Chief" isn't a staple in your rotation. You know who to thank if you ever come across a feather planted on a golf course. Waddaplaya!

Mark Felton Productions

I get excited every time I hear the intro music fire up! The good doctor from England is an accomplished military historian, an author of more than 22 non-fiction books. His unmistakable delivery, fluency in multiple languages, depth of knowledge, and focus on World War II content are second to none in my book. I have watched countless hours of documentaries on WWII, and many channels do a superb job of educating the masses, but Dr. Felton's sheer scope of knowledge is shockingly impressive.

Harry Mack

I'm not going to say Harry Mack is the best freestyle rapper online, but his infectious flows, unconventional creativity, upbeat personality, and vast catalog will have you listening for days on end without hearing the same rhymes. Whether he's wandering the streets looking for anyone to give him random words to work into an awe-inspiring tongue-twister or demonstrating his gift in front of celebrities, athletes, and the like, Mack has something for everyone, even if you're not necessarily a big fan of this genre.

Sally Is A Dog

Much like with YouTube golf, the gaming space is brimming with creators trying to make their mark, and few of them are as authentically themselves as this gamer. Sally is, in fact, a dog, even though many viewers colloquially refer to Kevin by his beloved pooch's name. Primarily a Call of Duty and Warzone streamer, he branches out into other titles, most recently being on an Arc Raiders kick as CoD struggles to maintain a sizeable player base. If you like a sharp-witted mind, clever jokes, bangin' gameplay, and a few cameos from none other than Sally herself, be sure to sub.

Steve1989MRE

All right, I must confess, for as much as I'm into military history and all of its tangential rabbit holes, I never envisioned myself spamming the watch button the moment a new video about eating rations pops up in my feed. It's oddly satisfying to see a truly unique character like Steve passionately diving into an expired meal ready to eat (MRE) that is often older than the Internet. Now, I can understand how this may not be for the faint of heart since he occasionally opens a can of rancid meat or what have you, but where else can you watch a man enthusiastically crunch hardtack from the Civil War one video and drool over a flameless ration heater warming a modern MRE's main from a foreign military's menu?

Aylex Golf Academy

I'm an above-average golfer who consistently looks to improve in any way possible. Whether you're a 10 handicap grinding to get closer to scratch or a once-a-month hacker trying to cure your banana ball, you'll find Aylex Golf Academy useful. Coach James Yim is the primary teacher on this channel, and his ability to translate knowledge into simple, easily digestible education is elite. The channel is the brainchild of Aylex Thunder, a master pianist at age 10, badminton champion by 18, philanthropist, and a multifaceted entrepreneur who simply loves to see people better themselves. Thunder frequently appears on the channel being taught by Yim and showcases relatable golf that makes the viewer realize Aylex human after all.

Expel

"Let's talk about it." Expel is an acquired taste. Brace yourself for the occasional crass joke, eccentric references, and a boisterous personality. My initial exposure to the Austin, Texas-based streamer was via a Warzone build recommendation video that immediately upped my K/D. I quickly subscribed and then a few weeks went by before I watched some of his gameplay tutorials. Several vids later, I found myself thoroughly annoyed by him and unsubbed. Months had passed and one of his videos popped up in my feed, so I begrudgingly gave it a watch and wasn't as bothered by him. Still not subbed, the ole algorithm did its thing and beat me over the head with his videos for a few weeks. I'm sure it was no coincidence that the new Warzone map had recently dropped. Anyway, long story short, I have resubscribed and even now follow his Expel+ channel for the latest loadout advice. He's worth a follow should you want advice to improve or just appreciate watching elite gameplay.
