New Trailer Released for Matt Damon, Ben Affleck’s ‘The Rip.’ When Will It Debut on Netflix?

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have not only been friends for decades, the two have teamed up on several film and production projects. Their latest work will debut on Netflix soon.

The Rip, an action thriller, stars Damon and Affleck as the leaders of a team of Miami narcotics officers who discover a massive cartel stash. The seizure causes stress for each team member, who now have to grapple with who they can trust following the massive haul.

Netflix released the the full trailer Monday morning. It features your typical clips from the film, along with voiceovers from Damon and Affleck.

Written and directed by Joe Carnahan, The Rip was produced by Artists Equity, the production company founded by Damon and Affleck in November 2022.

“Our goal is always to just make movies that we think we'll like, which is really the same calculus we use in our own careers as actors,” Damon told GQ back in September. “It kind of drives our creative team crazy, because they're like, ‘What are we looking for?’ And we always just go, A good movie.”

When will 'The Rip' debut on Netflix?

The premiere date for The Rip is Friday, Jan. 16, 2026. Netflix originally announced the date in late May 2025.

"Trust frays when a team of Miami cops discovers millions in cash inside a run-down stash house, calling everyone — and everything — into question," reads the official Netflix tagline for the project.

Who else is in 'The Rip'?

Obviously, Damon and Affleck are the headliners, but the additional cast of The Rip is pretty loaded as well.

Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Sasha Calle, Kyle Chandler, Nestor Carbonell, Lina Esco, Scott Adkins and Catalina Sandino Moreno are all featured prominently.
