Monsoon Sessions, Pakistan, Mission of the Year – 2025 Paddlers Awards Winners

0 3

The recipe for a mission that truly stands out almost always begins off the beaten path. What makes a great mission remarkable is not only what is accomplished or what comes out of it, but the willingness to step into the unknown and make an already serious challenge even bigger. In 2025, finding harder whitewater to push is no small task. It takes imagination, research, planning, and creativity, but also willingness to separate from the pack. While the Rhondu Gorge has now become a regular destination for the world’s best big water paddlers, pushing further by committing to the Indus and its tributaries, including the Hunza, Gilgit, Shyok, Shimshal, and Hushe rivers, during monsoon, at the peak of the highest flows, is another level entirely. Exploring already incredible rivers weeks before everyone else, hoping to find even bigger flows, is remarkable, and very few have been willing to take that risk. This year, Aniol Serrasolses and Sven Lammler did it in Pakistan. Respect and congrats, guys.
