Aldi’s $15 Dinner Board is so Similar to a Crate & Barrel Style That’s 6x the Price

0 3

High-quality wooden kitchen items are remarkably popular, whether we’re talking about charcuterie boards, serving trays, chopping blocks or lazy susans, kitchen stores are stocking up on various options and people keep buying them.

Aldi has been a game changer for these types of items because they’re similar in quality to many other retailers, but for a fraction of the price. They’ve been selling acacia wood boards, trays, bowls, turntables, spice racks and even kitchen gadgets that sell out each and every week.

This week, their Finds section has an array of kitchen goods to choose from, including this Crofton Maple Wood Dinner Board. This beautiful dark-colored board made from top-tier maple is lifted with wide propped legs on the corners for a refined look and ease of moving it around the kitchen.

How to Use Aldi's Maple Dinner Board

Perhaps most notably, this is considered a special “dinner” board because the top showcases 3 divots to house small bowls or to put dips directly into them for easy dipping and scooping. They can also hold round objects that tend to roll off a board, such as olives, grapes, cherry tomatoes and nuts.

Garnish the rest of the board with your favorite charcuterie items, such as crackers, pita chips, cucumber or celery sticks, baby carrots, bell pepper strips, apple slices, dried fruit, nuts and seeds, trail and snack mixes, olives, pickles, jams, chutneys, cured meats and cheeses. Given it’s a dinner board, you can craft any concoction of items to make a satisfying and fun snacking meal with protein, carbohydrates, fats and fiber with a variety of foods.

This Maple Wood Dinner Board from Aldi retails for just $14.99, which is 6-times less than a similar board from Crate & Barrel. Their Calistoga Dinner Board is also made of maple wood with that classic warm brown finish and is slightly bigger with 4 divots, but the Aldi dupe still accomplishes the same thing for a much more affordable price tag.

Since Crate & Barrel is such an iconic kitchenware company, though, we’ll take their idea of using this board to make a taco spread with tortilla shells and chips, toppings like shredded and crumbled cheeses, diced tomatoes and onions, sliced black olives, shredded lettuce and bowls of sour cream and guacamole. It would also make a fun omelet station for the cook in the family to grab toppings from to cook them line-style, custom for each family member.

This week, Aldi is also launching a variety of kitchen goods used to make pasta, including 6- and 8-quart stainless steel pasta pots, a pasta fork, a strainer spoon, pasta bowls in various colors, a wood and metal cheese grater and pasta cutters, a pasta measurer and pasta fork and a ravioli press.

It’s safe to say Aldi is a major player in the kitchen goods game as prices of goods continue to rise. We’re grateful Aldi continues to offer them for a fair price.
