Bruce Willis Makes Rare Public Appearance as Condition Worsens
Legendary actor Bruce Willis has been battling frontotemporal dementia (FTD) since his diagnosis back in 2023. But even as his condition has worsened over the past several months, Willis was seen out in public this week and appeared to be in good health.
In a series of interviews promoting her new book, the actor's wife, Emma Heming Willis, revealed that her husband's brain is “failing him” and that he no longer lives in the family home. However, Willis was recently seen happy, surrounded by his loving family in some recent photos. Now, a photo has surfaced showing Willis during a rare public appearance.
Willis' Condition Has Worsened
During the interview with Diane Sawyer of ABC News, the actor’s wife opened up a bit about how her husband's condition has worsened, revealing that while Willis is in “great health” physically, his brain is “failing him.”
“Bruce is still very mobile,” she said. “Bruce is in really great health overall, you know. It’s just his brain that is failing him.”
Emma Heming Willis revealed that Die Hard actor’s language has started to fail him in recent months, forcing them to have to communicate in other ways.
“The language is going, and, you know, we’ve learned to adapt,” she continued. “And we have a way of communicating with him, which is just a … different way.”
As a result of his worsening health, Emma made the decision to move her husband out of the family home.
New Photo Surfaces
Though Willis does not make many public appearances, given his worsening condition, he was seen enjoying a ride through the town with his wife, Emma.
"Willis, 70, who is suffering from frontotemporal dementia, appeared in good spirits as a driver took their vehicle in for a car wash," The Daily Mailreported this week.
"The pair were seen travelling down a road in sunny Los Angeles on Thursday, the driver drinking a coffee as Willis relaxed in the front passenger seat with a pair of stylish black sunglasses shielding his eyes," the outlet added.
This comes just about a week after Willis was seen in some touching photos alongside his family.
