Kemptville Creek paddle

We tried to beat the heat on Sunday with a paddle on Kemptville creek. It is a small peaceful waterway that empties into the Rideau river. We put in right in the town at Rotary park where there is a nice dock and launch setup and paddled downstream towards the Rideau river. Our hopes for some swimming were dashed by the fact that it is rather weedy along this waterway, not a fun place for swimming but it was teeming with wildlife and fish. We paddled downstream past the take out to make for a little longer excursion and then circled back to the takeout at Anniversary park. Another nice dock setup with a picnic area. After enjoying some ice cream we went to Rideau river Provincial park to enjoy a swim at the beach.
