Buatsi and Rea join Queensberry

Light heavyweights Joshua Buatsi and Bradley Rea have joined forces with Frank Warren

In more sensible signing news than their recent acquisition of Tony Yoka, Queensberry Promotions have bolstered their light heavyweight roster with the additions of Joshua Buatsi and Bradley Rea.

Buatsi (19-1, 13 KO) lost a shootout with Callum Smith this past February but remains one of the better 175ers in the game and a potential player in the post-Beterbiev-Bivol era. Despite the loss, he sits in the WBO and WBC top 10s and could finagle his way to a title fight before too long with the right management. Frank Warren has vowed to keep him busy, which would be a welcome change of pace; he hasn’t fought more than twice a year since 2019.

Rea (21-1, 10 KO) is coming off a career-best win over Shakan PItters that earned him the European title. The win marked his first major bout since dropping a decision to Tyler Denny at middleweight in 2022 and tees him up for a crack at the top of the UK’s stacked domestic scene.
