Keyshawn reportedly involved in backstage confrontation with Albright
Keyshawn Davis’ bad weekend may have gotten even worse on Saturday.
Keyshawn Davis was reportedly involved in a backstage altercation with Nahir Albright on Saturday night in Norfolk, perhaps taking an already-bad weekend into truly awful territory.
Davis allegedly headbutted Albright backstage, following Albright’s upset win over Keyshawn’s older brother, Kelvin Davis.
The Davis brothers declined comment, according to ESPN, with Albright “noticeably marked up with swelling” during an interview with Mark Kriegel, swelling that was not visible immediately following his fight.
Keyshawn Davis missed weight for what was meant to be a homecoming world title defense and ESPN main event on Friday, and his fight with Edwin De Los Santos was canceled, with Davis also stripped of the WBO lightweight title.
Keyshawn also has history with Albright, as he won a narrow majority decision over Albright in late 2023, only for the fight to be changed to a no decision after Davis failed a post-fight drug test for marijuana.
Albright (17-2, 7 KO) actually hadn’t fought since that bout, and now seems willing to settle differences with Keyshawn (13-0, 9 KO) in the ring.
