‘Huge opportunity to silence those who doubt me’: Schofield to face Farmer on Paul vs Chavez Jr card
Floyd ‘Kid Austin’ Schofield will return to the ring on June 28 against veteran Tevin Farmer.
MVP has officially announced the undercard of their June 28 card in Anaheim, headlined by Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Most notably, the card will feature a Floyd ‘Kid Austin’ Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) making his ring return against former titleholder Tevin Farmer (33-8-1, 8 KOs) in a ten round lightweight bout.
Scofield, of course, was most recently signed to fight Shakur Stevenson but end up having to withdraw from that fight with an unspecified illness. Schofield would receive a lot of skepticism and criticism over that move, but he’s set to get back in action here.
“First of all, I want to thank Golden Boy, MVP and DAZN for the opportunity to comeback on this stacked card,” said Floyd Schofield Jr. “Sharing the ring with former world champ Tevin Farmer is a huge opportunity for me to silence those who doubt me and my skills, and I know that I will come out with the win.”
Farmer, on the other hand, is coming off back to back losses to William Zepeda, both of which were very close fights that didn’t go his way. That, however, isn’t going to stop Farmer from bringing his best effort into this fight.
The Paul vs Chavez Jr card will also feature Avious “Tha Underdog” Griffin (17-0, 16 KOs) taking on Julian “Hammer Hands” Rodriguez (23-1, 14 KOs) in a ten round welterweight fight, as well as Raul “Cugar” Curiel (15-0-1, 13 KOs) facing Victor Ezequiel “Latigo” Rodriguez (16-0-1, 9 KOs) in another welterweight ten-rounder.
