Luke Humphries hits back at fans over ‘boring’ claims and compares him vs Luke Littler to iconic boxing rivalry
LUKE HUMPHRIES is happy to keep battling Luke Littler on the biggest stage – even if some fans complain they’re “bored”.
The World No1 saw off The Nuke 6-5 last Thursday to clinch an emotional Premier League Week 14 win in Leeds.
It was the sixth time in just 14 weeks that the two Luke’s have faced off at the oche.
But Humphries – a huge Leeds United fan – believes the best players in the world playing regularly can only help the sport.
He told the Daily Record: “I understand that when you’re playing each other a lot it does get tedious.
“But for me as a sport fan, I just personally love seeing the best go against each other.”
Cool Hand referenced the recent dust-up between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn in the boxing ring.
And he called on fans to soak up the drama and appreciate his battles with Littler, 18.
He continued: “You watch boxing and you see Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn what a fight that was, do I want to see that 20 times?
“Yeah, I would because it was great fight.

“I wouldn’t want to go and watch them fight against other people that weren’t as good because it wouldn’t be as fun”
“I think the fans should enjoy it, to be honest.
“It’s two of the best players in the world playing against each other.
“Hopefully, in my opinion, I want to see him in the Premier League final as well, because I just love playing against him.”
Both Humphries and Littler have already booked their place alongside Gerwyn Price in the Premier League playoffs on May 29.
Following his win, Humphries said: “It was all about qualifying for the O2 so it’s job done now.

The teenager, who went on to win the world title in December, won the Premier League in 2024 and will be looking to defend his crown over 18 thrilling weeks.

Luke Humphries, Rob Cross, Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price and Nathan Aspinall keep their place in what will be a hotly-contested title race.

“I was pretty nervous because I really wanted to win tonight.
“It’s extra special. It’s not my home town but it feels extra special.
“Hopefully this will give me confidence going into the final.”
