The stunt sparked a huge bust-up afterwards and the bad blood is now ready to boil over

But the fight threatened to kick off early when Eubank Jr cracked an egg across Benn’s face in their press conference in February.

And his estranged dad was so disgusted by the stunt that he claimed the British Boxing Board of Control should have stripped his son of his licence.

Eubank Sr said on SunSport’s explosive No Glove Lost show: “He must have his licence revoked.”

Fellow panelist George Groves – who beat Eubank Jr in 2018 – pointed out that the middleweight was “pretty severely” punished to the tune of a £100,000 fine.

But Sr snapped back: “A lot of money? Some people don’t earn that money during their careers but it’s nothing to him because of the money that he’s actually earning.

“But what he’s doing is sending a message which makes a mockery of boxing.

“And you’re not looking at that and I don’t know why you’re not looking at that.”

Eubank Jr and Benn were initially due to meet in a 157lb catchweight clash in 2022 – until Benn failed two pre-fight drug tests.

Benn tested positive for clomiphene – a banned substance known to boost testosterone – with the boxer protesting his innocence.

The WBC infamously suggested the positive test for clomiphene could have been down to “highly elevated consumption of eggs”.

So Eubank Jr’s egg slap was a reference to his test and the WBC’s theory behind it.

Benn eventually had his provisional UK Anti-Doping ban lifted after the NAPD dropped the case against him.

The unbeaten welterweight had two wins in America up at the light-middleweight limit in the midst of his doping scandal.

But still Eubank Sr remains adamant the jump from his usual 147lb fighting weight to 160lb should not be allowed.

He said: “Their language is against the rules, their actions which is physical and outside the ring is against the rules.

“Everything – the weight – this is against the rules.”
