UFC Fight Night 252: Hail, hail Seattle bonus winners – but only one from seven-finish prelims

The UFC handed out four bonuses after Saturday’s card, but only one went to a prelim fighter – despite seven-for-seven finishes on that portion of the event.

After UFC Fight Night 252, four fighters picked up an extra $50,000 for their performances in Seattle. Check out the winners below.

Performance of the Night: Ricky Simon

Ricky Simon def. Javid Basharat via knockout (punches) – Round 1, 3:58

Ricky Simon (21-6 MMA, 9-5 UFC) was a 2-1 underdog in his fight against Javid Basharat (14-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC), and odds of him winning by knockout were a whopping 12-1. But he landed a brutally perfect two-punch combo that put Basharat’s lights out in a major way.

Performance of the Night: Jean Silva

Jean Silva def. Melsik Baghdasaryan via TKO (punches) – Round 1, 4:15

Jean Silva (17-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) continued to roll in the featherweight division when he took out Melsik Baghdasaryan (8-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) in the first round. It was his fourth stoppage in four UFC fights and second straight bonus. He was the second biggest favorite on the card at 5-1.

Fight of the Night: Alonzo Menifield vs. Julius Walker

Alonzo Menifield def. Julius Walker via split decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28)

In a back-and-forth fight that saw both light heavyweights visibly worn out by the second round, Alonzo Menifield (16-5-1 MMA, 9-5-1 UFC) eked out a win over promotional newcomer Julius Walker (6-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) in a split call.
