Candyman Franchise Actor Tony Todd Dies at 69 – Entertainment News

Actor Tony Todd, best known for his title role in the CANDYMAN films, passed away November 6, 2024 at his home in Marina del Rey, California. It was reported that Todd died from cancer. He was 69.
Todd was a familiar face in the horror genre. In addition to the CANDYMAN film series (1992-2021), he appeared in such films as NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1990), THE CROW (1994), WISHMASTER (1997), the FINAL DESTINATION series (2000-2015), HATCHET (2006), and HATCHET II (2010).
Todd has over 200 film and TV credits, including PLATOON (1986), 21 JUMP STREET (1987-1991), COLORS (1988), LEAN ON ME (1989), MACGYVER (1985-1992), HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET (1993-1999), MURDER, SHE WROTE (1984-1996), THE ROCK (1996), NYPD BLUE (1993-2005), SMALLVILLE (2001-2007), CHARMED (1998-2006), BOSTON PUBLIC (2000-2006), CRIMINAL MINDS (2005-), MASTERS OF HORROR (2005-2007), 24 (2001-2010), THE QUIET ONES (2010), SCREAM: THE TV SERIES (2015-2019), and THE BUNKER (2024).
