Fight Night Program – Week of Aug. 2-7

The weekend is approaching, and from Friday to Sunday it will be “fight-o-clock” somewhere in the world. Every Thursday, The Ring will bring you the most up-to-date information on the most relevant fights you need to see in this week-at-a-glance, one-stop enhanced fight schedule. A quick checklist for the cognoscenti, a useful nuts-and-bolts guide for the boxing neophyte is what we’re aiming at.

Here are this week’s most relevant fights:

Saturday, August 3 – BMO Stadium, Los Angeles

Israil Madrimov vs. Terence Crawford – junior middleweight – 12 rounds

On paper, it’s graduation night for a future all-time great and first ballot Hall of Famer. Crawford is trying to lift a belt in a fourth division, and he may do it in impressive fashion. But don’t expect a knockout or a shutout. Madrimov is a battle-hardened former amateur star who has a bit more than a puncher’s chance to score a massive upset. Smart money says Crawford by five or more points, but the main reward will be watching one of boxing’s best-ever in action once again.

Also on this card:

Isaac Cruz vs. Jose Valenzuela – junior welterweight – 12 rounds

David Morrell vs. Radivoje Kalajdzic – light heavyweight – 12 rounds

Andy Ruiz vs. Jarrell Miller – heavyweight – 12 rounds

Jared Anderson vs. Martin Bakole – heavyweight – 10 rounds

Andy Cruz vs. Antonio Moran – lightweight – 10 rounds

Steven Nelson vs. Marcos Vazquez Rodriguez – super middleweight – 10 rounds

Where to watch it: DAZN PPV, ESPN+ PPV, PrimeVideo

Saturday, August 3 – Oakwell Football Ground, Barnsley, England

Zak Chelli vs. Callum Simpson – super middleweight – 12 rounds

Stephen McKenna vs. Joe Laws – junior middleweight – 10 rounds

Maira Moneo vs. Caroline Dubois – women’s lightweight – 10 rounds

Connor Coyle vs Kyle Lomotey – middleweight – 8 rounds

Mauro Silva vs. Dale Arrowsmith – middleweight – 6 rounds

Fearghus Quinn vs. Aston Brown – middleweight – 10 rounds

Caoimhin Agyarko vs. Tomi Silvennoinen – junior middleweight – 10 rounds

Owen O’Neill vs. Dylan Moran – welterweight – 8 rounds
