Alberto Palmetta Aims To Make Statement Versus Jesus Saracho In ProBox TV Main Event

Alberto Palmetta has the chance to advance from his status as a fringe welterweight contender.

The latest ProBox TV show is set to move forward as all fighters made weight. Argentina’s Palmetta was 146.8 pounds, while Mexico’s Jesus Saracho weighed 144.6 pounds.

Their schedule ten-round welterweight main event takes place on Wednesday at ProBox TV Events Center in Plant City, Florida.

Palmetta (19-2, 13 knockouts) has not fought in 2024 but enters with momentum. The 34-year-old Argentinean southpaw—now based in West Palm Beach, Florida—defeated once-beaten Janelson Figueroa Bocachica by unanimous decision last Nov. 1 on this platform. It came eight months after a decision loss to Jamal James.

ProBox TV’s Chris Glover believes Palmetto can be a problem for any of the top fighters at 147 pounds.

“Alberto is not far from a really big fight,” Glover told The Ring. “Alberto has everything to lose, (and) Saracho has everything to gain.

“Jesus Saracho is an example of what ProBox TV is about. If you’re in a good fight, but you lose, you get another chance. You can come from nowhere, and win.”

“It’s a great fight. Palmetta and Saracho is a great main event.”

Saracho (13-2-1, 11 KOs), originally from Guanajuato, Mexico and now resides in Auburn, Washington, is credible but also badly in need of a win.

The 23-year-old dropped a split decision to Starling Castillo on March 27. In his previous fight on June 23 of last year, Saracho fought to a majority decision draw against Tarik Zaina.

The setbacks followed back-to-back victories over a pair of unbeaten fighters in Nick Jefferson and Cesar Francis. Saracho turned away both after he suffered his first career defeat, when he was stopped by Deonte Brown in their March 2022 meeting.

In the co-feature, unbeaten welterweight prospect Emiliano Moreno (9-0, 5 KOs) of Long Beach, California will face Rashield Williams (11-2, 9 KOs) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida in an eight-round bout.

Moreno weighed in at 146 pounds. Williams came in at 146.6 pounds.

East Los Angeles’ Jonathan Navarro (17-0, 9 KOs) meets Saint Petersburg’s Clarence Booth (21-10, 13 KOs) in an eight-round bout. Navarro was 142.6 pounds for his first fight in nearly five years. Booth weighed 143.4 pounds.

Booth has lost his last six fights, all by decision.

Terrence Williams (6-0, 5 KOs) of New Port Richey, Florida will face Mexico’s Roberto Escobar Tapia (6-2-1, 4 KOs) in a six-round welterweight bout. Williams came in at 146.6 pounds; Tapia was slightly lighter at 146 pounds.
