Manny Pacquiao and Yordenis Ugas make weight

0 26
In a few hours time we'll see Filipino legend Manny Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39) take on Cuban fighter Yordenis Ugas (36-4, 12), in a bout for the WBA Welterweight "Super" title. Yesterday, ahead of their bout, the two men took part in the weigh in for their contest and thankfully both men made the 147lb limit for the bout, doing so with no problems at all.

On the scales Ugas, the champion, was bang on the Welterweight limit and he looked in great shape. In fact he looked in the best shape of his career, despite rumours of an injury to his left bicep, which have been doing the rounds through the week. Notably that bicep did look enlarged at the weigh in, though that doesn't confirm the injury that has been doing the rounds.

Pacquiao, who looked in truly tremendous shape himself, was lighter than Ugas, coming in at 146lbs, and like he has through out his career, he looked genuinely amazing. In fact he looked better, the wrong side of 40, than many fighters in their prime. What makes that even more amazing is that he's been out of the ring for more than 2 years.

For wanting to watch the bout it will be aired on Showtime in the US, Fite TV around much of the world and WOWOW in Japan.
