The fight airs on Showtime PPV.

Showtime is set to end August with a very busy weekend. Dan Rafael reports that their Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley PPV, which Paul had previously claimed would take place on August 28th, will instead land a day later on Sunday the 29th. There’s a news conference scheduled for Tuesday in Los Angeles where an official announcement will be made.

That 28th slot presently belongs to David Benavidez vs Jose Uzcategui on standard Showtime.

Paul (3-0, 3 KO) was last seen obliterating Ben Askren in April, one month after former UFC welterweight (170 lbs) champion Woodley (0-0 boxing, 19-7-1 MMA) lost a wild slugfest to lethal finisher Vicente Luque in the Octagon. That defeat was his fourth in a row and probably the most heartbreaking of the bunch; while his one-sided whoopings from Kamaru Usman, Gilbert Burns, and Colby Covington came about due to “T-Wood’s” painful reluctance to let his hands go, he came out like a house on fire against Luque, only to get dropped and submitted after hurting “The Silent Assassin” early.

As Scott pointed out in one of the above articles, this makes two pay-per-views in the span of eight days thanks to Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr on the 21st. It’ll be interesting to see whether that, alongside the general glut of boxing PPVs this year, will affect the buyrate.
