UFC on ABC 2 weigh-in results: One fight scratched at scales

LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie was on scene and reporting live from Friday’s official UFC on ABC 2 fighter weigh-ins, where a pair of fighters missed weight and one matchup was canceled.

The weigh-ins took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The same venue hosts Saturday’s card, which has a main card on ABC following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+.

Among those weighing in were Marvin Vettori (16-3-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) and Kevin Holland (21-6 MMA, 8-3 UFC), who meet in the middleweight main event, and Arnold Allen (16-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) and Sodiq Yusuff (11-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC), who fight in the featherweight co-feature. All four fighters made weight without issue.

The same could not be said for Norma Dumont (5-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC), who weighed in 3.5 pounds heavy for her women’s bantamweight clash with Erin Blanchfield (6-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC). Following the miss, commission officials called off the contest.

Additionally, Ignacio Bahamondes (11-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) was 0.75 pounds over the lightweight limit for his bout with John Makdessi (17-7 MMA, 10-7 UFC). Bahamondes was fined 20 percent of his purse, but the bout will go on as scheduled.
