According to Mike Coppinger a date and venue has been agreed for the IBF and WBA Light Welterweight world title bout between unbeaten champion Josh Taylor (16-0, 12) mandatory challenger Downua Ruawaiking (16-0, 13) [ดาวเหนือ เรือไวกิ้ง], aka Apinun Khongsong.
According to the Thai's the bout will be taking place on a Top Rank promoted show at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland on May 2nd.
The bout will be Downua's first outside of Asia, and if the details are right it would give the unbeaten 23 Thai a chance to join a very small list of Thai's to win a world title in Europe. He is however, a huge under-dog and Taylor, the unified world champion and WBSS winner, will be a very clear favourite, especially with home advantage.
A press conference is expected in the near future to confirm the bout.
