Kyoguchi meets governor ahead of next title defense

On October 1st we'll see WBA "super" and Ring Magazine Light Flyweight champion Hiroto Kyoguchi (13-0, 9) [京口 紘人] defending his titles at the EDION Arena Osaka as he battles former Japanese national champion Tetsuya Hisada (34-9-2, 20) [久田 哲也].

Today, well ahead of that fight, Kyoguchi travelled to see governor Yoshifumi Yoshimura in Osaka.

The event, a courtesy call, saw Kyoguchi spoke about his upcoming fight and suggested wanting a great performance on the big stage and having the local children involved.

Mr Yoshimura stated that Kyoguchi's second title win was great and that he was grateful to Kyoguchi as a representative of Osaka, despite the fact Kyoguchi fights out of the Tokyo based Watanabe gym.

Interestingly the fight actually clashes with a prefectural assembly, though Mr Yoshimura stated that as children are invited to the fight he will try to rush the assembly and allow the children to watch the fight.

Kyoguchi also revealed he would be in Osaka until August 10th, and then travel out to the Philippines for a training came at the Pacquiao Gym later in the month.

Despite the fact the press at the event it was quite a relaxed one, despite Kyoguchi and manager Hitoshi Watanabe being wonderfully suited and booted. The event had the local mascot attending, along with other officials, and making the most of his opportunity to get in front of the camera
