Wilder vs Stiverne II, more: Boxing fight times and TV schedule for November 2-4

0

Deontay Wilder returns in the headline fight of the week.

Thursday, November 2

ESPN2, 11:00 pm ET, Jesus Soto Karass vs Juan Carlos Abreu. Soto Karass hasn’t won a fight since 2013 (0-4-1 since), but Golden Boy is running him back out on ESPN airwaves after an August majority decision loss to Mauricio Herrera. Abreu is a Dominican who has lost two of three.

Friday, November 3

Telemundo, 11:35 pm ET, Sammy Valentin vs Alejandro Barboza.

Saturday, November 4

MDR (GER), 5:30 pm ET, Dmitry Bivol vs Trent Broadhurst, Jamie McDonnell vs Liborio Solis II. Also on the card: Agit Kabayel faces Dereck Chisora, and Scott Quigg takes on Oleg Yefimovych. McDonnell-Solis is an overdue rematch of a controversial decision, while Bivol defends his WBA “world” title against Broadhurst, a fringe contender.

SHO, 9:00 pm ET, Deontay Wilder vs Bermane Stiverne II, Shawn Porter vs Adrian Granados, Sergey Lipinets vs Akihiro Kondo. A Showtime tripleheader, with Wilder taking care of a mandatory against Stiverne, which was going to happen sooner or later, so ultimately, might as well be now, especially given the situation with Luis Ortiz. Porter-Granados should be a good scrap, and Lipinets-Kondo is for a vacant 140 pound title. BLH will have live coverage.

Azteca (MEX), 11:00 pm ET, Luis Nery vs Arthur Villanueva. Nery is coming off of a huge win over Shinsuke Yamanaka, but he failed a drug test. He’s still officially the WBC bantamweight champion, but this is a non-title fight.

Televisa (MEX), 11:30 pm ET, Jhonny Gonzalez vs Irving Berry, Lourdes Juarez vs Diana Laura Fernandez. A pretty typical Gonzalez stay-busy fight. Juarez-Fernandez is for a minor WBC flyweight title.
