Bellator MMA welterweight Michael “Venom” Page had a successful debut in pro boxing.
Undefeated Bellator MMA welterweight striker Michael Page made his first foray into the professional boxing ring on Friday, taking on Spain’s Jonathan Castano, who came into this matchup with a record of 2-11-1 (2 KOs). To the surprise of no one, this fight wasn’t competitive.
Castano scarcely threw any punches, while Page was his usual self, showboating and taunting in the ring and fighting with his hands below his waist. The Brit repeatedly tagged Castano with his jab, but it certainly wasn’t a scintillating contest through the midway point of this scheduled four-rounder. Early in round 3, “Venom” Page floored Castano with a good right hand, and while Castano beat the count and probably should’ve been given the chance to continue, the referee stopped it.

With Page coming away victorious and with nary a scratch on him, it looks as if we’ll see him back in the Bellator cage on December 15th, when the promotion heads to Newcastle, England. Page has not competed in MMA since November 2016, when he defeated Fernando Gonzalez by split decision.
Just spoke to @ScottCoker. If @Michaelpage247 comes out of this boxing match unharmed Bellator will book him for Newcastle on Dec 15th.
