Undefeated UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov punches ‘crazy’ fan who egged him on

Yesterday, feared UFC lightweight talent Khabib Nurmagomedov punched a fan in the stomach after being egged on to do so. ‘The Eagle’ dropped him with a short right hook to the body, which sent the crowd into fits of laughter. The fan did ask for it, after all.

“This is not my job,” Nurmagomedov posted on Instagram. “Crazy Fan.”

Nurmagomedov, 28, is the top-ranked UFC lightweight contender and has accumulated a professional MMA record of 24-0, winning sixteen fights via stoppage.

Despite his feared reputation, the Dagestani fighter has faced injury and weight cutting complications throughout his career and has been sidelined from competition for the better part of a year.

Nurmagomedov was scheduled to face the No. 2 ranked Tony Ferguson for the interim 155-pound title in March but was forced to pull out at the last minute due to a failed weight cut which left him hospitalized.

The fan favorite plans to return to competition in the fall and is rumored to face UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor, who is currently preparing to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a 12-round boxing match on Aug. 26. McGregor, who turned 29 last week, is interested in fighting Nurmagomedov in his home country of Russia.
