Jared Weiner defeats Andre Leite via unanimous decision.

Fight to Win Pro journeyed back to the East Coast and brought their unique brand of competitive grappling to Philadelphia, PA. Fight to Win Pro 40 featured some of the top talent in the Northeast and some black belt super fights with the top competitors in the game today.

Jared Weiner and Andre Leite were in the featured contestants from the night, both known for highlight-reel submissions that they put forth in previous Fight to Win Pro appearances. In this contest it seemed as if their submissions skills effectively neutralized each other, as neither was able to lock in an attack to coax the finish. Weiner found himself in Leite’s guard throughout much of the match but he did enough to be determined the more aggressive fighter, earning the unanimous decision victory.

Award winners for the night included Gregory Soto and Michael John who won Fight of the Night for their black belt battle. Robbie de la Rionda and Travis Collins earned the same award in the brown belt division. Dez McDonald and Peter Lingesso won Fight of the Night among all purple belts. Nick Calvanese’s “Goon Choke” earned him the black belt Submssion of the Night. Steven Wilson’s arm choke over Shawn Carn earned Submission of the Night for brown belts. Eric Gocke won Submission of the Night for purple belts when he defeated Henry Ma with an inverted triangle.
