[Women's Basketball] Schmidt is ready to join coach Stamatis and the Tigers

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — ONU women's basketball is excited about its newest addition to the 2017 recruiting class. Head coach Lauren Stamatis and the Tigers have signed 5'8", Olivia Schmidt, from Eldridge, Iowa. She attended North Scott High School and is transferring to the Tigers a sophomore in the fall of 2017.

Olivia had this to say about ONU, "I chose ONU for the family-like atmosphere, awesome basketball program, caring staff and friendly people."

Along with playing at North Scott, Olivia volunteered at Catherine McCauley Center teaching English to refugees from foreign countries.

Schmidt plans on majoring in Biology/Pre-Med at Olivet. Olivia is the sister of current women's basketball junior, Maggie Schmidt (JR/Eldridge, Iowa). Olivia is the daughter of John and Jacki and she has one brother, Carter. She and her family attend Cornerstone Church.
