Cavaliers vs. Celtics 2017 live stream: Start time, TV schedule, and how to watch NBA Eastern Conference finals online
Boston has home-court advantage, but does anyone really see them knocking off LeBron James?
It took a Game 7 for the Boston Celtics and 10 days of waiting for Cleveland, but we finally have our first game of the Eastern Conference Finals beginning on Wednesday. Boston, fresh off winning the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NBA draft, will now host the Cavaliers thanks to their No. 1 seed earned during the regular season.
However, home-court advantage isn’t enough to make Boston the favorite. In fact, they Celtics are heavy underdogs, which is just an inevitability when you’re playing LeBron James. After all, James has been to six straight NBA Finals and is going on his seventh consecutive appearance. Boston, meanwhile, hasn’t been this far since 2012, when its lost in the Eastern Conference finals to — you guessed it — James’ Miami Heat.
Boston dropped the first two games of its first-round series against the Chicago Bulls and lost three times to the Washington Wizards. They’re a good team, but there are some flaws to their depth and offensive production when Isaiah Thomas isn’t leading the charge. Clearly, their future is bright, but asking them to keep up with Cleveland might be too much to ask right now.
Meanwhile, the Cavaliers haven’t lost a game yet this postseason, turning things on just like we all knew they would (at least deep down) once the playoffs began. Who cares about their lackluster regular season anymore? Cleveland’s defense is working better, the role players are stepping up, and even though James had his best regular season in several years, he’s legitimately been even better in the postseason.
