Spurs vs. Rockets, 2017 NBA playoffs: Start time, TV channel, and live stream for Game 6

San Antonio could send Houston packing, but only if they can pull off a win in an elimination game on the road.

The Houston Rockets had a chance staring them in the face before stumbling in overtime in Game 5. With San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard unable to close out the game with an ankle injury, the Rockets missed a chance to take a lead with seconds left and proceeded to score only six points in the extra five minutes, ultimately falling 110-107. Now they return to Houston on the brink of elimination, certainly still shaking their head about the missed opportunity two days prior.

All that said, and it’s much too soon to count out the Rockets. With Game 6 moving to Houston, they have home court advantage in their advantage. Leonard is definitely playing, but he might not be 100 percent. Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni ran with a seven-man rotation on Tuesday, but you can probably expect him to open it up slightly in Game 6, trusting his role players more in the friendly confines of the Toyota Center. One win, and the two teams will head to a Game 7, where we all know anything could happen.

James Harden, who had a terrible overtime, was otherwise excellent in Game 5, and you’d expect that to continue. He needs to continue being a great leader of the offense, with the thing that held him back late in the Game 5 loss was when he held the ball and let the team stagnant. That the game went to overtime was unfortunate, because that’s when he really lost steam.

On the other hand, the Spurs just need a win now. If they can catch the Rockets still thinking about their missed chance and pounce early, perhaps they won’t even need to return to San Antonio.
