[Women's Basketball] Women's Basketball Signs Former Puma Brooke Sterkowitz
Notre Dame, Ind. - The Holy Cross women's basketball team is pleased to announce the signing of freshman transfer Brooke Sterkowitz. Sterkowitz will transfer in for her sophomore year from Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana. The standout guard from Cedar Lake, Indiana plans to follow the Holy Cross Pre-Physician's Assistant Track.
The 5'5 guard Sterkowitz was a three-year varsity starter for Hanover Central High School, where scored 1,146 career points for the Wildcats. An Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) two-time All-State honoree helped lead her team to a Sectional Championship in 2015. Sterkowitz averaged over 17 points per game her senior season while recording 2.9 steals per game. The Hanover Central grad was also named to the Associated Press All-State teams in 2015 and 2016. Sterkowitz appeared in 8 games this season for the Pumas.
