Arizona State lands Australian center Ajak Nyuon
By JAMES MADDEN
Arizona State has picked up a commitment from elite Australian center Ajak Nyuon, he announced on Instagram.
Newly-hired Sun Devils head coach Randy Bennett, who became the coach in March, has built a longstanding relationship with hundreds of recruits in Australia from his days at Saint Mary’s.
A 6-foot-10 center, Nyuon played for Team Australia in the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup, averaging 2.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game in seven appearances as one of the youngest players on the team.
Since his days at Saint Mary’s, Bennett has been a staple in Australian basketball circles. His old team is the only college basketball team in the United States with a broadcasting agreement in Australia, due to how many of his players hail from the nation.
With Bennett taking over the Sun Devils this spring, they’re now set to bring in nine newcomers next season.
In addition to Nyuon, Arizona State has landed commitments from four-star JRob Croy, Boston U transfer Ben Defty, Saint Mary’s transfer Dillan Shaw, Saint Mary’s transfer Paulius Murauskas, Portland transfer Joel Foxwell, Gonzaga transfer Emmanuel Innocenti, LSU transfer Marcus Vaughns and California Baptist transfer Nate Garcia.
