Rutgers has officially signed Manhattan transfer Will Sydnor, per release.

Sydnor, a 6-foot-8 forward from The Bronx, averaged 13.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season for the Jaspers.

“We are thrilled to welcome Will to Rutgers,” Rutgers head coach Steve Pikiell said in the release.  “He is exactly the type of player we want in our program — a versatile, high-IQ forward who can impact the game on both ends of the floor. Will has proven himself at the college level, and we believe his best basketball is ahead of him here in Piscataway.”

Sydnor played his high school ball in The Garden State at The Patrick School, solidifying himself as one of the best forwards in the Tri-State Area over the last few seasons.

He said he’ll be a high-effort rebounder when he plays for the Scarlet Knights next season.

“I bring a lot of effort as a rebounder,” Sydnor said in the release. “I just go 110 percent all the time. I’m just extremely excited to play Big Ten basketball at Rutgers.”

Sydnor is Rutgers’ fifth overall commitment and fourth pickup of this year’s transfer portal cycle.

He joins a class that already includes three-star Imahri Wooten, Virginia Tech transfer Christian Gurdak, Central Connecticut State transfer Darin Smith Jr. and New Mexico State transfer Lewis Duarte.
